Each summer, Iowa educators come together to grow their skills in computer science education, and 2025 is no exception! Iowa’s Computer Science Professional Development (CS PD) Week will take place July 14-18, 2025, bringing K-12 teachers an opportunity to learn, connect and strengthen computer science instruction in their classrooms. This event is made possible by the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), the Iowa CSTA Chapter, NewBoCo and Code.org, with generous support from Iowa State University, Workiva and Collins Aerospace.
What to expect
Educators will gain hands-on experience, collaborate with peers, and take part in high-quality training designed to make computer science accessible for all students. Whether new to teaching CS or looking to deepen their expertise, participants will leave with fresh ideas and valuable connections.
Cost & stipends
- The program fee is $300 per day, which includes breakfast, lunch and a CSTA membership.
- Participating educators will receive a $150 daily stipend to support their attendance.
Important dates
- April 10: Priority application deadline (applications accepted afterward, but course availability may be limited).
- May 10: Registration information sent to accepted participants.
- June 10: Final application deadline.
