How do I register for classes?

AEA Account for Statewide Registration

identAEA is your AEA Profile.  It keeps your profile information, allowing you to login to AEA systems with your same login information and use your same credentials (e.g. district, building, position, etc).

Creating your identAEA profile is an easy, intuitive process.  We will walk through it here.  The most important thing to share is that it is important not to create a 2nd profile.  This will lead to lost records and even getting charged for services that should be free for you.  Luckily, our system has several checks to help prevent people from making a 2nd profile.  Do not create a new account if you have logged into an AEA service before.  Let us help you get into and update your old profile.

Where do I go to take the mandatory trainings?

  • Go to the AEA Learning System
  • Click on HELP! at the top of the AEA Learning System page for more assistance and for the FAQs.
  • Mandatory Reporter Requirement Changes: Iowa HF430 now requires all school employees 18 years and older to be trained in Mandatory Reporting. Before, the requirement was just for staff licensed through the Board of Educational Examiners. The change in law means custodians, bus drivers, food service personnel, and all other non-licensed staff must take the training by October 1, 2023.
  • On July 1, 2024, we discontinued the Mandatory Reporter Refresher training. Today, we are excited to announce that we have retired the Mandatory Reporter Initial training and have the new version of Mandatory Reporter live on the system from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (2024)
  • Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (2024)
  • Some things to keep in mind:
    • If a participant is still signed up for, and actively taking, Mandatory Reporter Child Abuse (INITIAL) or Mandatory Reporter Dependent Adult Abuse (INITIAL) training they can still complete the training and get the certification they need to be compliant with current Mandatory Reporter standards.
    • If a participant uses the links for these Initial trainings to sign up, they will now be met with a STOP page that will link them to the new version of the training. There is also a message to advise participants who paid for the training to reach out to support to transfer them to the new version.
  • Additionally!
    • We now have Spanish versions of the training! This has been asked for by school districts across Iowa and we are so excited to be able to have it available for participants to sign up for.
  • ESPAÑOL – Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (2024)
  • ESPAÑOL Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (2024)
  • Please update your documentation with this new training and reach out to support@aealearningonline.org with any questions!
